THINK

Gather Information:

  • Review previous interactions and assess how team members have applied the principles of adaptability.

  • Look for instances where they demonstrated resilience, took calculated risks, and adapted to new situations effectively.

Assess Adaptability:

  • Evaluate how effectively your team members are navigating changes and uncertainties in their professional environment.

  • Assess their ability to make quick yet well-considered decisions and their openness to continuous learning.

Develop a Coaching Plan:

  • Identify key areas where each team member could improve their adaptability skills.

  • Develop a plan focusing on these areas for your coaching sessions, incorporating principles discussed during the Adapt workshop.

ACT

Listen for Challenges:

  • Encourage team members to share their experiences and challenges in applying the principles of adaptability.

Ask Questions:

  • Ask them to provide examples of when they successfully adapted to a situation and the outcomes of those instances.

  • Discuss situations where they could have demonstrated better adaptability.

  • Explore how they have been implementing the principles from Thinking, Fast and Slow in their decision-making processes.

Offer Support:

  • Determine what additional resources or guidance each team member might need to better apply the principles of adaptability.

REFLECT

Gain Perspective:

  • Encourage team members to share their thoughts on how the principles of adaptability have impacted their professional lives.

Provide Feedback:

  • Offer constructive feedback on how to enhance their adaptability, emphasizing the importance of balancing quick decision-making with thoughtful analysis.

  • Highlight successful instances of adaptability and discuss areas for improvement.

Align on Next Steps:

  • Set specific goals around elements of adaptability and their application in real-world scenarios.

  • In subsequent coaching sessions, review their progress and discuss the impact of their actions on team dynamics and project outcomes.
